Jul 9, 2021 | 0 comments

Jimmy Sabas alias MASH is a local Street Artist who first started to beautify the island Saint Martin after the devastation of Hurricane Irma in 2017. He began to bring back color between all the debris and rubble, which gave hope to the people here on the island. He keeps doing so for over 4 years now and his beautiful street art can be discovered all around the island. Many other artists followed his initiative and you will be able to discover many murals these days either on your own, or with at guided tour.

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to meet Mash at the beautiful 5 star La Samanna Belmond Hotel in Terre Basse, where he has a small exhibition at the Art Gallery Pavillon inside the resort. You can visit him, while he is beautifying a wall at the staff building and he will meet and greet you by reservation only. Take a look around all the beautiful paintings and purchase some of his canvas, postcards, or T-Shirts.

Mash explained us, that he needs to be in a “special mood to express himself in his art“. He wants put “everything in the circle and talk about where he is from and about the history of the Caribbean“. He was born in Guadeloupe and his art can also be seen on Guadeloupe, Martinique and many places on this island.

Don’t miss this, since you will also be able to get an inside view to the Art Gallery at the hotel with wonderful paintings of our partner Sir Roland Richardson.

Just contact MASH via his Social Media @mashinart or by email jimmysabasart@gmail.com and make your reservation before July 24th, 2021
