Spend a Day at Saint Martin’s only Private Nature Reserve
Located halfway between Marigot and Grand Case, Loterie Farm can be found nestled in a beautiful tropical forest at the foot of Pic Paradis. This sanctuary is by far the greenest spot on the island and urges you to make a stop. Formerly a sugar plantation between 1721 and 1848, it closed in 1855. After the ravaging Hurricane Luis in 1995, the property became derelict until B. J. Welch purchased the land in 2003. His goal was to establish a nature retreat while preserving the island’s last remaining rainforest. Nowadays, it is a real gem harboring thousands of plant species and a diverse set of animals like iguanas, parrots, hummingbirds, monkeys, and mongoose. In the heart of a hidden forest, beyond the Rambaud district, the casual chic atmosphere of Loterie Farm makes it a wonderful place to spend your day!
The Jungle Pool – Chill-out Zone
Inspired by nature, you can spend your day in the tropical Jungle Pool Area. Rent a cabanita for 2 people, a cabana for up to 10 people, or simply a daybed and relax surrounded by lush greenery. Take a dive in the various pools, chill out in the jacuzzies, and enjoy the delicious hand-mixed cocktails. The Jungle Pool is an adult zone, but children of 13+ years are allowed to enter from Monday to Friday while being supervised by an adult. On the weekends, the Jungle Pool is an adults-only environment. But right next door is the kids-only “Jungle Kids Adventure Park”. Every last Saturday of the month, they host a special pool party that you should not skimp on. The Jungle Room – Restaurant
Loterie Farm also attracts with a wonderful restaurant called “The Jungle Room”. It is open seven days a week for lunch and open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday from 6 PM to 10 PM. When you set foot into The Jungle Room, you are instantly transported into a lush green mountain side. Nestled into Pic Paradis, you can enjoy delicious meals in intimate corner couches or a full-on sit-down dining area.
The professional serves will try to cater to your every whim, so you have a unique dining experience. The lunch and dinner menus include different entrees such as Accras, Chicken wings, or a crab and spinach fondue. As well as a variety of salads and poke bowls. Moreover, you are treated to different meat or fish dishes, curries and tartars. Every Saturday (apart from the last Saturday of the month), they offer their Saturday Brunch from 11 AM onwards for 38€. Reserve a table via their website!
The Adventures – Ziplining, Hiking & Playing
Loterie Farm is not only good for a relaxing day. They also offer many different adventures. You can travel from tree to tree in the Fly Zone. Through various ziplines, you are able to discover the rainforest with its tropical trees and animals. Going for the thrill is not the focus of this activity. It is supposed lead you into a world of majestic 200-year-old mango and mahogany trees via a series of ropes, cables, and suspended bridges. The specially trained and highly qualified staff will give you a safety briefing. Just to make sure that you are secure at all times. Your only requirement is to bring closed shoes. Put your long hair in a ponytail, and maybe use a strap to keep your glasses secured.
If you are looking for a little bit more of an adrenaline rush, Fly Zone Extreme might be a perfect match for you. It includes a longer and steeper zipline. If you prefer your feet to be planted on the steady ground, you definitely enjoy exploring one of the hiking trails that start at Loterie Farm. Self-guided hikes cost 10€ per person. Discover the flora and fauna of Pic Paradis and enjoy the incredible 360-views from the top of the highest mountain on Saint Martin.
Children can also have fun at Loterie Farm due to their secure open air playful adventure area. There is a vast array of supervised attractions and a pool design for the little ones. This will make them have the best day! The Jungle Kids Adventure Park is open seven days a week. From 9 AM to 5 PM and costs 20€ per child. It is also possible to organize children’s parties and special events in this area.
