An event full of charm and elegance
The story of Dîner en Blanc begins in Paris in 1988. Frenchman François Pasquier wanted to organize a picnic with friends in the narrow streets of Paris to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. All the guests were to be dressed in white to create an elegant yet carefree atmosphere. The idea was a complete success and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon.
Today, “Dîner en Blanc Events” take place in over 80 cities on all continents. Each event has its character, shaped by the local culture and environment. In Saint Martin / Sint Maarten, the “Dîner en Blanc” combines French elegance with Caribbean joie de vivre.
An unforgettable experience
At the “Dîner en Blanc—SXM,” you can expect much more than just a delicious meal. It is a work of art consisting of culinary delights, decoration, and music. Traditionally, guests would bring their white tables, chairs, tableware, and decorations to create their tables, but in the Caribbean, you book a package deal from the event planner. The result is a sea of white, illuminated by candlelight at night.
The guests and table leaders take care of their physical well-being. Whether you choose a buffet with international specialties or a multi-course gourmet menu, your imagination is the only limit. Live music will accompany the event to create a great atmosphere.
PRICES
The average price per person for a Diner en Blanc experience can vary between $100 and $150.
The price depends on what the person wants to have for dinner & drinks:
+ One may wish to have a simple bottle of wine
+ Another may wish for an expensive champagne bottle
+ One person may want to order dinner
+ Another person may want to bring their food to share among friends (as a picnic-style event, guests are allowed to bring their food)
So everyone pays the same standard admission + their food/wine selection
Admission if choosing Pedestrian Departure: $78 per person
Admission if Bus Departure is $89 per person
Unlike many cities, St. Maarten has tables/chairs & table linens included in all admissions.
