This week’s choice is located at the quiet northern end of Grand Case, away from the crowds and noise. The result is a relaxed and truly magical dining experience in an authentic Caribbean-Creole style building with a peaceful interior design to enjoy. Chef Ciro, born in Lecco, Italy, prepares the finest Italian specialties which you cannot find in other Italian restaurants on the island. Spiga is something special – Once you go, you will definitely return!
About the kitchen
The Spiga spoils you with authentic Italian cuisine. The menu ranges from various hot and cold appetizers to a seafood and meat selection, house made pasta, as well as delicious dessert options. It changes every season, so you are able to explore new flavorful creations every couple of months. Chef Ciro prepares all the dishes with diligence and his wife Lara will make you feel right at home in Spiga. Her attentive and professional service is also one of the main reasons why people always return. As a team, Lara and Ciro lead the restaurant since 2002 and made it to one of the most popular restaurants in Grand Case. According to their motto “Spiga: Different, for All The Right Reasons”, their goal is to create exquisite and memorable dining experiences exclusively for you.
It is all about the taste and preparation
On our latest visit to this incredible restaurant in Grand Case, we truly enjoyed the Vitello Tonnato as an entrée. Thinly sliced slow roasted veal in a “tonnata” sauce – it was absolutely delicious! For our main course, we ordered the “Filetto Di Manzo”. It is beef tenderloin with sauteed potatoes, vegetables and a demi-glaze. Moreover, we loved the “Tagliolini Vongole” – pasta with clams, zucchini, ginger, and garlic in a white wine sauce. Our extra tip: Save some room for dessert! Originally, we wanted to share the nut tiramisu, but we ended up having to order another one… It was simply too delicious!
All in all, Spiga is a must-go-to when you are staying on the island. Their authentic Italian cuisine will leave you speechless, their service is highly professional and attentive, and the setting is delightful. There is no disappointment waiting for you!
