This week in focus, Le Cottage in Grand Case! We start our new blog series called “Restaurant of the Week” and present you an eatery in St. Martin / St. Maarten that should not be overlooked. We will give you an insider’s look into their dishes, service, and owners. After reading our post, you will know everything you need to know! To kick things off, this week’s “Restaurant of the Week” is Le Cottage – Grand Case . This restaurant is located on the Boulevard de Grand Case in the center of St. Martin’s culinary area and provides both outdoor and indoor seating. The indoor area has air-condition, so through the chic bistro atmosphere you feel right at home. As well as the remarkable service from Stéphane & Tania and their staff. Chef David Hanquer’s creations are a combination of French and Caribbean flavors.
About the kitchen
Chef David Hanquer put together an outstanding gourmet menu that will satisfy the wishes of each guest. No matter if you are a lover of seafood, foie gras, or tender meat, Le Cottage will not disappoint. According to their motto “La vraie cuisine est une forme d’art. Un cadeau à partager.” (“True cooking is an art form. A gift to share”) all their dishes are prepared with diligence. In addition to their á la carte menu, they also offer a special menu which you also should not miss. Chef David states that the famous lobster bisque in its puff pastry crust and the foie gras lasagna with morel sauce are all-time favorites. Both -their food and service- are top notches and for many years this team is offering a constant top level of gastronomy in Grand Case, the Culinary Capitol of the Caribbean. That is what makes this restaurant so special!
It is all about the taste and the presentation
On our latest visit at this great Grand Case restaurant, we enjoyed the Arugula goat cheese salad, the pea soup, veal on special, beef tenderloin “Black Angus” as well as the “Sea Food Linguine” pasta with shrimp and seafood juice sauce:
As shown above Le Cottage is a whole gastronomic experience also due to its owner Stéphane being a sommelier. He will lay out the best combinations between wines and dishes personally arranged for you in the Wine Pairing Menu. As a result you cannot go wrong ordering the perfect wine along with your food order.
Above all Le Cottage is a high-class gourmet restaurant that is different from others and always worth a visit. It deserves the spot of being our first “Restaurant of the Week”.
