FRENCH SIDE IS OPEN TO ALL TOURISTS AGAIN!

Currently, tourists arriving at the Princess Juliana International Airport must present a negative test up to 120h while the French regulation imposes tests of less than 72h. Faced with this situation, the Prefecture has ordered that tourists whose PCR tests exceed 72 hours or antigenic tests exceed 48 hours be obliged to do an additional antigenic test on site, within a maximum period of two days. This test can be carried out at the Hope Estate near the French Side airport, recently installed at the SMEC level, by the Red Cross teams. The traveler will have to present passport and a certificate from his accommodation provider.

The accommodation providers agreed to inform their customers about this new measure. Tourists will have to send them a copy of the test provided to the airline company before their arrival on the territory. The accommodation providers will then be responsible for accompanying the tourist in the organization of a control test if theirs exceeds 72 hours. “If the test is not carried out, the traveler must be reported to the Prefecture and isolation will be imposed,” said the Prefecture.

IN CASE OF A POSITIVE TEST:

The tourist must sign the isolation acceptance release, which will last 5 days if he or she tests positive and 7 days if he or she refuses to be tested. In the absence of symptoms at the end of this period, the tourist will no longer be considered a contaminant and can continue his stay. However, if the symptoms persist, the tourist will have to continue the isolation until they disappear and observe an additional period of 2 days from the disappearance of the symptoms. The tourist will undertake to extend his stay if necessary to complete his isolation period.

Lodging providers agree to organize the follow-up of the confinement of their positive clients and to respect the barrier gestures in their establishment. “Checks will be randomly carried out by the police and state services to verify the application of the isolation“, says the Prefecture.
