Beautiful architecture

Some of the most beautiful and unique houses on the island are in Orient Bay. Since the building codes on the French Side are strict, no high buildings are allowed. If you plan on visiting, you’ll most likely want to stay in one of the boutique hotels in the area, like Les Galets. If you’re looking to stay at a more private place four bedrooms Villa Eve & one bedroom Apartment Les Salines are your choices. You need more space? Stay at Villa Acropole, which has options to be rented for your vacation with two, three or five bedrooms. Are you looking for something more luxurious, consider the Les Galets. You’ll also find several other great hotels in the area.

A stunning beach

Orient Bay is well known for its beautiful white sand beach. The beach is two kilometers long, making it an ideal spot for those who love to take a walk or swim. Sunrises are just magical at this beach. If you visit during the dry season (November to April), the waves are generally calm and you can go for a swim in the Caribbean Sea. During the rainy season (May to October), you’ll be able to go snorkeling in the shallow waters of the Caribbean Sea. Don’t worry too much about rain during the summer, as the water is generally warm and enjoyable to swim in. Since this beach is located at the Atlantic coast of Saint Martin it sometimes gets Sargassum during the summer months, which gets cleaned up by several beach clubs right away.

A culinary delight

You love to dine out while on vacation? Grab your Magic of the Caribbean Card and visit the restaurants in Orient Bay. You are looking for an upscale experience right at the beach? Then consider lunch at Coco Beach. If you’re looking for a place to grab a delicious local dish, head over to The Pirate Hideout right at the beach. We highly recommend French restaurant L´Astrolabe for breakfast and dinner. L´Astrolabe is located inside Esmeralda Resort. Make a reservation for Lobster Night on Fridays or Monday Surf & Turf or visit one of the other many restaurants at La Place du Village: We like to dine at SAO Restaurant, where they serve trendy Asian cuisine with an array of dishes like Sushi, Sashimi and many traditional Asian dishes. Both are perfect places to share with friends and to take in the breeze of the Caribbean Sea while dining. You find in Orient Bay a variety of French and international foods within walking distance.
